Travels

I took a trip to New York City for business on March 12th. Since we are based in the west coast, our knowledge of the NBC News business is very limited. The main objective of this trip was to familiarize ourselves NBC News' business processes. We toured CNBC, the tape warehouse and libraries, the Nightly News studio, the Dateline studio, the SNL studio, the Conan studio, and the broadcast facilities. I have been a fan of CNBC since high school, so it was very exciting to tour the CNBC facilities. To top it all off at CNBC, I met Maria Bartironmo.

I also took this opportunity to meet up with a couple of friends and was lucky enough to be invited to a Rangers hockey game.

I had the privilege to make two trips to the Magic Castle this week. Once on Sunday night and once on Thursday night. I had such a great time on my first trip on Sunday, that I had to make another trip before my friend moved to the East Coast next week.

The Magic Castle is a members only restaurant and club where the dress code is strictly enforced. There are bars everywhere and at least three rooms for magic performances. Every week, a different set of world class magicians perform for members and their guests.

Bumped into Jessica Simpson in Nordstroms at the Grove this weekend. She was there promoting her new line of shoes. Nordstroms security surrounded her while a large crowd of shoppers watched her every move. We did not make any effort to get close, but we were still able to catch a glimps of her. She looks just like how she did on her TV show, the Newlyweds.
